There you are. Welcome again. Do sit back and relax. Make yourself at home.

I’m Marcia, pronounced máhr-see-ah, a creative dreamer happy to share my joys, littlest and grandest, and in spite of this public setting also quite private.

To see through the eyes of wonder, the heart of a child, this is a gift we’re all born with, but sadly one that we’re usually quite hurried to wrap back up and place in a locked drawer, too preoccupied to remember the whereabouts of its key. Somehow, wonderfully and more wonderfully, from childhood to adulthood, I never once parted with my gift, and this is what I like to take with me wherever I go. Even here. Even now.

What amazes me? Glad you asked! I am swept off my feet by the weightlessness of grace. I am awed by nature’s nobility, the extravagance of stillness and simplicity. Kindness that lingers in the soul as sweet perfume, soothing, calming, lifting us to greater heights; the infinite in the finite, heaven’s fingerprints in earthly everyday details, like preparing a meal or folding laundry, all is a wonder that has my heart.

Through the years, I’ve fluffed up and dusted off this corner many times and shared in a variety of styles. One thing remains unchanged, my love for God’s Word, and this will continue to narrate. I happen to enjoy pairing it with nature and light that I trick myself into believing I caught.

Before I step away, I hope you don’t mind me hanging up a sign on this sliver of picket. To the homeward bound. To the weary, the restless, you who may be looking for a warm place of beauty to rest your head. It’s a whole other world in this world, the secret place of the Most High, and it all feels very much like home because it is home.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.”

Psalm 91:1-2

You are highly loved.
