Honey Poached Pears

- 128 g honey (6 Tablespoons)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Optional
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Carefully peel pears in long strips from stem to bottom so that the fruit remains as smooth as possible.
- In a medium-large saucepan over medium heat, combine all other ingredients and bring to a simmer.
- When low simmer is reached, reduce heat to low and carefully add pears to simmering honey mix, setting them close together stems up. Weigh them down gently with a heat resistant plate or lid so that all pears are submerged. Simmer approximately 20 minutes or until tender.
- Carefully remove pears from pot, turn heat up to high and boil remaining liquid until reduced to a syrup.
- Serve pears drizzled with syrup, warm, at room temperature or chilled.
